DISC HARROW
Tiie angle of the discs erf this harrow is increased by lengthening the control chain, which hitches on the centre of the draft link, and decreased by shortening
it. It is therefore easy to straighten the discs to clear them of any obstruction. The cress bar prevents crowding and buckling of the inner discs.
POTATO DIGGER
This digger has in front a concave roller, in the centre of which is a disc which cuts the sods and vinos. Behind it is a jointer which turns the sods out to
the sides. The potatoes are then caught by the digger proper, and forced on to the conveyor, which carries them to the sack at the rear.
SILO.
Over the passage from the barn to this silo is built a trunk with four compartments. Warm air from the barn passes up the trunk and in between the walls
of the silo at the level of the top of the ensilage, and thus prevents it freezing. As the ensilage is used, the upper compartments are shut off.
IMPLEMENT FOR HANDLING BALED MATERIALS. This hook has a long shank with a relatively long lever on opposite side of it from the hook. The bottom of the hook acts as a fulcrum on which the
shank and lever pivot, thus giving powerful leverage, it may be used for upending, dragging, carrying, or stacking bales.
STOCK-DISINFECTING COVER. The animal’s legs are placed in this cover, which is then drawn up and secured by the back straps. Disinfectant is applied by hand to the head and
back, and the cover allowed to fill. The cover may be left on as long as necessary. The fluid is run off thiough draincocks in the leg pieces.
POTATO CLEANER AND STERILISER. This machine is designed to wash, dry, sterilise and sack potatoes. The sterilisation is to destroy the fungus disease which cause* leaked P.'t'dnes are poured in at the right, where they pass over a
pitman actuated brush and are elevated against downward downpouring water to the tank at the left, which contains disinfectant. A hot air blast dries them as they, leave the tank.
