FIRES.
A HOTEL FIRE. GISBORNE, May 23. The Tatapouri Hotel, 10 miles from Gis* borne, was destroyed by fire this morning.. The only two boarders,'Mr and Mrs Innes, of Wellington, escaped in their night attire with the utmost difficulty. The fire spread very quickly, and in 20 minutes the whole structure had gone. The insurance on the building was £2OOO in the Norwich Union Office; furniture and fittings, £940; stock, £350. Th® buildings was owned by G. Gillett, of Hamilton.
