ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the Otago Acclimatisation Society was held on the 22nd in the Imperial Buildings. The following members were present: Messrs C. P. M. Butterworth (in the chair), Co e, Williams, Hutchison, Reid, Rutherford, Turner, White, Hawes, C. A. Wilson and Baker. The game and angling committees’ reports were adopted. . A letter was received from Mr Jelly, chairman of the Cromwell Rod and Gun Club, recommending an extension of the season for quail from two months to three months. It was decided to notify Mr Jelly that the Society could not accede to his suggestion. A cable was received from Calcutta stating that the shipment of cliukor asked for would not be available in March. It was decided to make arrangements for a shipment to arrive in November. It was decided to buy a five scater Ford car for Ranger Duncan.
