THE PRINCE AT WEMBLEY.

THE NEW ZEALAND PANORAMAS. (From Oup. Own Correspondent.) LONDON, March 31. The Prince of Wales paid a visit to the Empire Exhibition a few days ago to see how the preparations were going forward for the opening in May. Mr A. F. Roberts and Mr W. E. C. Reid showed him over the New Zealand Pavilion, where the work is probablv further forward thar. in any other pavilion. Lighting efforts were arranged for the incomplete panoramas, and his Royal Highness got a very good idea of the Waitomo Caves, Milford Sound, and Rotorua. He was surprised with the impression of great depth that has been attained in the Waitomo loproduction. This is procured with the aid of mirrors, and tho delusion is perfect. Tho steam in tho» Rotorua. panorama was not turned on when tho Prince examined it, but sevaral experiments have already been made, and have proved satisfactory. Although the Prince of Wales visited the Pavilion last year several times, he had never been able to inepeot tho restaurant. On this occasion he was able to make a leisurely examination, and was greatly interested in the effective Maori decorations. This will be the only visit tho Prince will be able to make to the Exhibition, ns ho has left on his six months’ tour of South Africa and the Argentine.
