TOWN CLERK REINSTATED.
RECALLED liV NEW COUNCIL. HAMILTON, Mav 16. The Borough Council lias decided to reinstate Mr E. ,1. Davey as town clerk. It will be remembered that Mr Davey was dismissed just before the election as the result uf a circular addressed by him criticising the Investigation Committee. He had been town clerk for 20 years. Most of tne members uf tbe committee were defeated at the recent election. Mr Davey was reinstated by nine votes to three.
