ELDERSLIE JERSEY HERD.
KEEN DEMAND FOR COWS. OAMARU, January 23. Tbe rale of th-a Etderslie Jersey herd today by the National Mortgage and Agency Company and Wright, Stephenson, and Co. attracted buyers from Christchurch to Invercargill, and there were buying orders from the North Island. Ridding was keen for cows, but slack for young bulls, which were not In demand. The top price for cow’s, 75 guineas, was given for Collingwood’s Joy, by J. C. Hellyer* North-Easn: Harbour, who also paid 70 guineas for Collingwood’a Frolic. The following is a list of prices and the buyers:—

The milking cows wore a mixed lot, and sold at from £2 to £l3, the top price being for a Jersey cross.
