It has lately been staled that Air Bonar Law's death was partly due to excessive smoking. In the revenue collected for the first quarter of 1921 Napier assumes fifth placo for the dominion, corning after the four main centres with a total of £51,558 16s. 3d which was collected m this postal district. In the corresponding period last year £33,933 10s was collected. At the money order offices in the district orders valued at £68.475 were issued, against £63,261 for (ho same quarter last year. In other directions as well, for instance in savings ban* and telegraphic operations substantial ailround increases are shown.
