A MEMORIAL TRIBUTE.
“Erected by the footballers of Otago in affectionate remembrance of A. W. Morris.” A beautiful marble scroll bearing this epitaph was unveiled over the grave of the “late Mr A. W. Morris, at the Riccarton Churchyard, by the president of the Otago Rugby Union, Mr W. J. Wilson, on Friday afternoon. Members of the Otago touring team and the Canterbury Rugby Union were also present. In unveiling the memorial, Mr Wilson expressed the sympathy of Otago footballers with Mrs Morris and her family in their bereavement. The scroll was erected to mark the esteem in which the late Mr (Morris was held. The team wished to pay its respects to a footballer, who was a sport and a gentleman.
