THE ARRIVAL AT NEW YORK OF JOSEPH CONRAD, THE GREATEST LIVING WRITER OF SEA TALES The photo, taken on s.s. Tuscania, shows (left to right): Muirhead Bone, famous etcher; Joseph Conrad, the Polish-born master o' English prose; and Captain David W. Bon e , skipper of the Tuscania, and ranked high among modern writers of novels and stories dealing with the sea. Captain Bone is a brother of Muirhead Bone. This is Mr Conrad s first visit to the United States., by an odd trick of fate, although he sailed the seven seas for a scoro of years.
