A MINISTER’S VENDETTA.
THE PRESBYTERY’S WARNING. WEL LING TON, July 11. The local Presbyterian Church has another dispute with a minister on its hands. In consequence of a certain action, the Rev. R. Wood was warned by the General Assembly. On the ground that this warnrng was not complied with, the Presbytery declared its opinion that Mr Wood's behaviour called for severe censure, and cited him to appear before it. Mr Wood wrote that without admitting jurisdiction, or that he hacFdone anything unworthy of his position, he undertook, for tho sake of the peace of the Presbyterian Church, to cease what was termed his vendetta against members and the Presbytery. He did not attend the meeting. The Presbytery passed a resolution that, though it could have proceeded to suspend him. it would accept his undertaking, but warned him that any further breach of the undertaking in bis letter would be immediately followed by action.
