SHOCKING MOTOR FATALITY.

WELLINGTON RESIDENT KILLED. TWO OTHERS INJURED. WELLINGTON, July 12. A shocking motor fatality occurred on the Ilutt road this evening, resulting in the death of a prominent resident of Wellington. Two other well-known residents were injured, and one was removed to the hospital. The car, which was driven by Mr Adams (sharebroker), left (he city in the evening, accompanied by Mr Turnbull, head of die firm of Messrs Turnbull and .Tones, and Air Ben Wilson. manager of the Governmnet Tourist Department. The car crashed into a motor lorry, which was proceeding at a slow pace in the same direction, and the occupants were thrown from the car, the front portion of which was badly smashed. Drs ATEvedy and Mirams were soon on the scene, when it was discovered that Mr xurnbull was fatally injured, and he died in a few minutes. Air Wilson was badly hurt by an iron rod being driven into his side, and which had to be cut away. He was conveyed to the hospital. Mr Adams was not seriously injured, and was able to proceed home. Air Robert Turnbull, who was killed in a motor accident on the Hutt road this evening, was very well known in Wellington. and, indeed, throughout New Zealand. He was a brother of the late Air Alex. Turnbull, who presented his almost priceless library to the dominion, -ids sister, Lady Wood, resides in London. Mr Robert Turnbull was the head of the well-known electrical engineering firm of Alessrs Turnbull and Jones. He had a charming residence in beautiful grounds at Lowry Bay, across uie harbour. His house was stored with many fine pictures and objects of art. A few years ago he went to Sydney to undergo a serious operation, from which he made a wonderful recovery. He will lie greatly missed by a very large circle of friends.
