Morning—Warm mash at 8 oYlock. consisting of 2!40z. per bird dry meal, equal parts by weight of good Poultry Meal and good middlings, with half a tablespoonful of Karswood Poultry Spice (containing ground insects), all well mixed together, then warm water added until made to a crumbly mash. Afternoon—4 p.m.. 2oz. per bird of grain. Equal parts maize, whole oats, and wheat, well mixed together, and thrown into the litter to give plenty of scratching exercise. Each month I reverse my feeding methods, giving grain at morning and warm mash at night. The birds always have a good supply of flint grit, oyster shell, and clean water. Aug. 16. IS2I.
