\ rea l old Captain Cooker was recently encountered by a pig-hunting expedition on Mr M. Witten's Mount Riley property (states the Marlborough Express) The boar was started from a- clump of thick fern on the hillside, the huge brute being despatched after a thrilling battle, in which Mr Wiffen very nearly met. with disaster. Ti, e boar had two inches of protective liido on hia shoulders, and bis tail was 19in long.
