. NAPIER, June 6. rraneis Ayre, who was yesterday found guilty at, the Supreme Court, on two charges of forgery, was to-day tried on a charge of failing to account to Messrs Dainty and Co. (Wairoa) for the proceeds of the sale of 50 sheep. The jury returned a verdict of guilty, with a recommendation to mercy. He was remanded for sentence. At a sitting of the Supreme Court yesterday. Francis Martin Ayre was found guilty on two charges of forgery in making two false documents purporting to record the sale of 366 sheep to an unknown buyer. The jury reeemmerded the accused to leniency as the station tallies were somewhat irregularly kept, and as there was no evidence connecting the accused with the disappearance of the sheep. Accused was remanded for sentence.
