A Hokitika Press Association telegram says that the annual accounts of the local Savings Bank disclose the number of depositors to be 1364, and mortgagors 119. The deposits for the year amounted to £34,390. the interest accrued at 4g per cent, was £3457, and the withdrawals for the year were £38.871. The total deposits now stand at £82.953. The accumulated balance of profits (£16.942) in proportion of assets to liabilities is 119 per cent. In the past 10 years the deposits increased by £3'0.184, and the total funds increased by £35,494, and now stand at £99,894.
