A GRAVE CHARGE.
Abi-aham Alfred Lind, who describes himself as an undenominational missionary, appeared at (he Dunedin Police Court on May 16 to answer a charge of having committed ra-pe on December 19 last. A remand was asked for bv the police until May 23, as accused had been arrested only the previous day. Sergeant Dunlop asked that bail should be made substantial, as there were two other cases in addition to the one mentioned in the information. Bail was fixed at accused himself in £4OO, and two sureties of £?0*0 each.
