THE HEW ZEALAND LOAN
ITS EFFECT ON STOCK EXCHANGE. LONDON, May 10. The Morning Post, in its city article, discussing the over-subscription of the New Zealand loan, says that it has had a stabilising influence on the Stock Exchange. It speaks well for the popularity of New Zealand as a borrower and for the auspices under which the loan was issued, that the amount was so quickly absorbed. Moreover, tho terms are an appreciable advance on New Zealand’s last loan. SUBSCRIPTIONS TOTAL £6.500,000. LONDON, May 10. The subscription for the New Zealand loan amounted to £6,500,000. Dealings in the scrip have commenced at a discount of about three-eighte per cent.
