AUCKLAND’S EIGHTIETH ANNIVERSARY. AUCKLAND, May 8. The eightieth anniversary of the establishment of the Presbyterian Church in Auckland City and province was celebrated at a service in the Town Hall last evening. Lord Jellieoe, in an address, said that the Presbyterian Church had conferred a great good on the dominion and its people. Presbyterianism in this country was distinguished for two things—its strong support of religion and its strong support of education. There was room in the dominion for a revival of religious sentiment. The Prime Minister also delivered an address, mainly reminiscent of the Presbyterian stalwarts he knew in the old days.
