For Hospital Board Representatives.— Jasper Clark (Lovell's Flat), James Allan (Greenfield), H. M. Driver (Clarendon). TAIERI COUNTY COUNCIL. ELECTION IN OTOKIA RIDING. The result of the election last week for a councillor for the Otokia Riding of Taieri County came as a surprise (o many, as the sitting councillor (Mr W. H. L. Christie), who has held the seat for the past 12 years, was defeated by Mr D. M‘lntosh. Ihe latter had a majority of 49, The retiring councillors for all the other ridings were returned unopposed. LAKE COUNTY. QUEENSTOWN, May 10. The Lake County election results (a preliminary count) axe as follow:—• QUEENSTOWN RIDING (Two Seats). Leo I.ee 70 J. E. O’Connell 69 James M‘Mullan, jun 35 GREENSTONE RIDING (One Seat). George Reid (sitting member) 26 Henry Adams 23 DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE SOUTHLAND HOSPITAL BOARD. James William Miller 284 George L. Edie (sitting member) 246 DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE BLUFF HARBOUR BOARD. Peter Reid (present member) 304 J. J. M'Bride 227 The contests were keen, but were fought in a friendly manner. CLUTHA COUNTY. In the three contested ridings of Clutha County the voting resulted: — Richardson Ridings.—W. S. Thomson, 117; John Christie, 53. Gatlins. —Thomas Maginness, 264; Thos. Barr, 169. 'Glenkenich.—W. J. M‘Kenzie, 130; Alex. MTntyre, 114. Messrs Thomsen and Maginness were members of the previous council, and Mr M‘Kenzie, of Waikoikoi, defeated an old member in Mr MTntyre, of Kelso. Voting took place on the £12,003 bridge loan on Wednesday also, and in present indications it is believed that the proposal will be carried by the requisite three-fifths majority, but the returns so far are far from being complete.
