The oldest member of the Engineering tJnion in New Zealand to-day is Mr W. Taylor, of Avondale, who has reached his Binety-seventh year. He first joined ai Greenock, a famous engineering place or the Clyde in 1857, and has been a member
of the Amalgamated Engineering Union in New Zealand since it was first registered in 1.857. The members of the executive of U>e Auckland branch recently paid a visit to Mr Taylor, who, despite his great age enjoys splendid health.
