LEAGUE OF NATIONS’ UNION.

There were about 300 people present in Burns Hall on t'he 29th ult. at a meeting held in connection with the League of Nations’ Union movement. The principal speaker was Captain A. E. V. Thomas D. 5.0., M. 0., who dealt in an interesting and instructive manner with the accomplish, menta of the League and the direction in which its work lies. The chairman was Dr G. E. Thompson, and those present on the platform included Bishop Richards, the Hon. G. Fowlds, the Rev. Dr Cameron, Mr C. E. Statham, M.P., Rev. Hector Maclean, Dr Carmalt Jones, Mrs Carnialt Jones, Mr C. C. Campbell, and Mr F. Jones. Captain Thomas, after his address, replied to a number of questions. After the Rev. 11. Maclean had made an appeal for an increase in the membership of the union, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Captain Thomas.
