In connection with the discovery of goldbearing quartz at Whangara (says the Gisborne limes), a syndicate of Kast Coast residents is awaiting the issue of a prospecting license recently applied for. Once the license is issued, the syndicate will commence development work, and an indication of its hopes is given by their willingness to expend up to £IOOO in that direction, should the initial results hold out any prospect of ultimate success.
