WELLINGTON, February 3. The following prisoners were sentenced in the Supreme Court to-day : —Edward Cecil Hatfield, breaking, entering, and theft, nine months’ reformative treatment ; Frederick Marshall, forgery and uttering, five years’ imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal; William Joseph Gee, a half-caste Chinese, for breaking and entering at Hawera, one year’s reformative treatment. At the Supreme Court the following prisoners were sentenced: —Wilfred John Lawson, forgery and uttering at Ashburton, one year’s imprisonment; Margaret M'Dermott, theft from the person, three months’ imprisonment; James Bracken, breaking and entering and theft (three charges) and theft (four charges), probation for three years; George Richard Christie, assault, causing actual bodily harm at Westport, one month’s imprisonment; Peter Keevil Johnston, theft from a dwelling (two charges), one year’s imprisonment; William Rate, breaking and entering with intent, three years’ reformative treatment; Alexander Small M'Farlane, theft from a dwelling, two years’ probation ; John Milchrest Quayle, theft from a dwelling, six months’ imprisonment.
