The Canadian Pioneer, on which a serious outbreak of fire occurred in Auckland on Thursday, arrived at this port from Bluff on January 14, and sailed the following day for Lyttelton. She loaded wool, hemp, tallow, and pelts at Bluff and wool and hemp at Port Chalmers. The vessel, which had a quantity of Canadian and Australian cargo on board, discharged at Lytteiton, Wellington, and Napier on her way to Auckland, and also took in cargo at these ports. The cargo which was loaded in New Zealand was destined for American and United Kingdom ports. Five chapels in London are now used as factories. The ordinary person’s lungs contain 76,000,000 air cells.
