GAELIC SOCIETY. r f The first meeting of the new year of the Gaelic Society was held on the 24 th in Kroon’s Hall, Moray places the absence of the Chief, Chieftain J. H Cameron was the chairman. Chieftain Cameron, in open* ing the meeting, wished all present a bright and prosperous New Year. There were no fewer than five Gaelic singers, whose contributions were highly appreciated. The first, to open the programme was Mr Morrison, who sang “Mairi Chan og,” and to an encore, “Strathmore.” Other Gaelio singers were: Mrs MTvor, “fiilean wl ghaol,” “Lag na Cruachan, “Och max tha me,” and “Hi oro’s no horo eile” j Mr Uampbell, “S’theid leum a Ghailteachd," sad another;. Miss Kennedy, “ C’ait an Oakfil an Ribhinn”; Mr M’Gregor, “Anns a’gteann’s an rebh mi ogt” Chieftain J. D. Cameron sang “The Wedding of Shon MXesn." and to a recall, “In An Old-fashioned Town”; Mr Johnstone, “My Ain House,” and “My Ain Folk.” Miss M'Kenzie played two violin selections, with piano accompaniment. “Redganntlet” and “Humoreskew Master Wright danced the. sword dance and a seann truibhais; and Miss G.
