An old Native, Wahieraa Uy name, died at Normanby (Taranaki), at tlie great a"-e of 105 years. In 1840 lie was taken prisoner by the Waikatos, and returned, to Taranaki 53 years afterwards. A meeting of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society was informed by Sir Walter Buchanan that he would head the list from the Wairarapa for the proposed itoyal Show with a donation of £IOO.
