Parliament carried a vote of confidence in Chang Shaot Tsang’s Cabinet by a vote of 350 to 40, amid stormy scenes. The students of the National Uni'ersitv stormed Parliament and fought with the legislators until the police ejected the students from the building. Fifty were injured, 10 seriously. The students protested against the confirmation of Pang Yun, who caused the rearrest of a former Finance Minister, Low En Kan, on a bribery charge after he had been cleared. The students declared that Pang Yun was unduly interfering in judicial matters.
