is pulled and slides on guides at the other end. It is held closed by a latch at this end. (Chris. Nielson, Ruthven, lowa.)

SHIPPING COOP

The object here is to provide a coop which combines lightness with great strength. The bottom is made of light boards, the ends, sides, and top, of

hickory cross pieces, and light hickory rods. The comers are butt joined, and secured by long nails driven through two rods. (Charles T. Sherman, Senr., Goldvein, Va.)

COVER FASTENER

The hoop, bail, and loops of this fastener are all in one piece, and can therefore be attached quickly when needed. The

loops are tightened by twisting, and make a very secure closure. (American Seamless Container Co., Chicago, 111.)

COVER FASTENER

In this fastener the wire loops are attached to rivets let into the side of the pail, and must be in place before the pail

is filled. They are tightened by twisting and may be sealed as shown if desired. (California Ba-rel Co., ban Francisco, Cal.)

GRAIN BIN

This bin is made of concrete blocks, and is divided into four compartments by wooden partitions so braced that lateral pressure on them comes on the outside

wall. It has in each compartment a vertical spout to discharge grain to the chamber beneath, and a side spout to deliver it into a waggon box. (Allen D. W. Johnson, Anoka, Minn.)
