DUNEDIN CENTRE EXECUTIVE. At a meeting of the executive of the Dunedin Bowling Centre it was agreed to play the inter-Centre match with Southland on Saturday, February 10, and the interprovincial match Otago v. Canterbury on February 22. It was decided to hold the inter-Centre tournament in Dunedin on February 15 and 16. Intimation was received that the team of bowlers from New South Wales was due to reach Dunedin on February 17, remaining till the morning of the 22nd. Matches will be played on the Roslyn, Mosgiel, and Duned'u greens. As the rinks tournament in Dunedin was not a financial success owing to the small entry, it was resolved to call a meeting of delegates on February 5 to consider the question of holding a rinks and doubles tournament at Easter, which falls early this year. DOMINION TOURNAMENT. AUCKLAND, January 15. The rinks competitions in connection with the dominion of New Zealand bowling tournament oommenced to-day in fine weather. The greens continue to be in good order. Two games of 25 heads will be played on each of the four days, 142 rinks taking part. January 16. AUCKLAND, January 15 The Queensland bowlers defeated Takapuna in a five-rink match by 125 to 95. January 18. The Queensland bowlers played a representative match against Auckland, five rinks being engaged. Four aggregated the same number of points and the fifth game was won by Auckland, the total, scores being: Auckland, 119; -Queensland, 116. A team representing the All Whites defeated the Queenslanders under electric light by 92 points to 84.

UNIVERSITY SENATE. In his report as Chancellor of the University of New Zealand. Sir Robert Stout announced that he did not intend to seek reelection when his term of office expired at the next meeting of the Senate. He had been a Fellow for nearly 38 years, and Chancellor for about 30 years. Though able to do his work, he thought some other member should be selected to fill the high position which .had been so generously bestowed on him for such a lengthy period. By 14 votes to nine the Senate of the University of New Zealand has rejected a proposal that steps should be taken to enable the University to confer honorary degrees upon distinguished individuals. The Slenate adopted a recommendation that if and when a School of f orestry is established it should be attached to Auckland University College. ( The Senate also adopted recommendations for the establishment in connection with the Auckland College and Victoria College (Wellington) Of Agricultural Schools.
