MARDI GRAS.
NAPIER, December 26. Favoured by ideal summer weather Napier’s annual Christmas Carnival and Max-di Gras proved a great success today. Very large crowds gathered on Marine Parade and in the main streets to see the procession of industrial and humorous exhibits, which made a commendable display, extending over a mile. Openair boxing, cricket, tug of war, and other attractions interested a large assemblage in Nelson Park during the afternoon and evening.
