WHEAT AND OATS.

THRESHING RETURNS. Returns of actual threshing received to June 19th from threshing mill owners show that, so far, 8,380,643 bushels of wheat and 4,541,976 bushels of oats have been threshed out. The average yields per acre in coses | where particulars of areas were furnished I (covering 99 per cent, of total threshings) | work out at 30.78 bushels for wheat and | 40.93 bushels for oats. A table is appended showing, by land districts, the quantity of wheat and oats threshed and the yield per acre in each case.

WHEAT TRADE REGULATIONS. The following is the return for the period ended J uly 7: — Threshing returns received to date, 9,017,815 bushels. Contracts to purchase—Good milling, 5,471,568 bushels, fowl wheat 289,301 bushels. Amounts paid to farmers through Government brokers £1,392,338 8s lid, representing 4,724.226 bushels. OTAUTAU DAIRY FACTORY, LIMITED. An extraordinary general meeting of the Otautau Dairy Factory Company was held last week, Mr J. G. Fiett presiding over 40 suppliers. It was moved by the chairman that the capital of the company be increased to £2500, and that 1050 shares of £1 each be called up, making the total called up capital £2OOO, and on a ballot being taken the proposal was carried. A motion that the articles of association be amended to allow a shareholder a vote for every share he holds in respect, of which there are no calls in arrea was lost when put to the vote. A motion that, shareholders should be restricted as to sending either cream or milk elsewhere than Otautau was defeated. The chairman reported that ”3 tons of the latter end of the season’s cheese had been sold at Sd per lb. The secretary reported that 680 crates of cheese had not yet been sold, and cf 600 crates sold no return had yet been received.
