SAD DROWNING FATALITY.
PALMERSTON NORTH. .Tulv 9. An infant daughter, lira ye.n> old, the youngest of a- family of three, of Mr anti Mrs A. Sullivan, Limerick street. Terrace hn<l. wandered away from tier ho no at 10 o’clock on Friday morning. The father 6earthed vainly in the neighbourhood and acquainted the police, who joined with pri'ate patties in a search which lasted all day. At night intimations of the occurrence were flashed on (he screens at the various picture shows and th, exhaustive search continued on Saturday. Tn the afternoon the cihild’u body was found in a 6ft ditch in a paddock, a mile from her home. The ditch contained 7in of water, and the medical evidence is that the child was drowned.
