The Pacific Club decided its Championship and Sealed Handicaps at Wingatiii under ideal conditions. The course started from opposite the stand, and took in the sod wall and post-and-rails. About the half-mile post it crossed on to Mr Gow’s property, past his residence on to the Factory road, then to Jane lie Id through the property of Mr Cuy, and .across the railway line at the culvert, thence on to the racecourse, which was followed to the finishing post. Tlic Senior Five Mile was twice over this course and the Junior Two and a-hali Miles once round. The latter event was run first, and brought out a field of six runners. Leaving the course Brown was leading by about 15 yards, the remainder running together. When the runners returned! to the racecourse Brown had increased his lead, and ran in a winner by about 100 yards, Gibson being second and J. Gray third. Stevenson, who was running in rubber slices, could not mako good progress on the greasy turf, and withdrew from the race with Bond after crossing the plough, in Mr G ow’s paddock. Results: H. Brown 1, S. D. Gibson 2. J. J. Gray 3, C. Muir 4. Time, lGiuin Bsec. The Sealed Handicap resulted in J. JGrey taking first place and C. Muir second. T!en runners came forward for the Senior Five Mile. The pace for the first mile was very s-olid. Leaving the course for tho plough, Hobbs was leading M'Lcan, Grey, Monaghan, and Hill, the remainder bunched a short distance back. Passing the stand the first time, the order was Hobbs, M*Leau Hill, Jolly, and Monaghan, the rest of the field well strung out. Returning to the course the second time, Hobbs had greatly increased his lead and put in a good sprint for the finish, M'Lean filling second position, and Jolly third'. Results: W. IL. B. Hobbs I, C. H. M‘Lean 2, E. T. Jolly 3, R. Monaghan 4. Time, 30min 49sec. The Sealed Handicap run in conjunction with the Championship resulted in E. T. Jolly taking* first prize and R. Monaghan second. The winners, 11. Brown and W. Hobbs, ran well-judged races, and showed the result of good training. C. H. M/Lcau also ran well and deserved his place. The club is indebted to the Club for permission to ufo t lie track, and to Messrs Gow and Guy for allowing the events to be rim over their property, also to Mr Crawford for providin', dressing accommodation. There wa& a good h 1 tendance at the St. Kilda Club’s run from VJcsley Hall. The Caversham Harriers held a handicap of about two miles and! a-half at the Cliffs. The trail was laid by Phillips, Dixon, and Reynolds, and a field of 18 started. Messrs Eyre, sen. and J. List acted as starters. The course started at M'Daren’s, through Hamilton’s, round on to the road anrl through the valley overlooking Burnside, then across paddocks and! along the road to the golf links. A fine race resulted in J. Tapp just beating C. Mayno, with Gibbs, Dixon, and Macdonald following in that order. The Cargill Road Methodist Harriers held their cross-country championship over a course on the hills behind the golf links at St. Clair. Twelve started E. O. Chap-

man took the lead, but was soon overtaken by IV. E. M'lndce, who obtained a big lead and he'd it right throughout the race, coming ill first, with. C. H. Baldwin second. The time was 27min 3lsec. In connection with the race a. sealed handicap was- run, this being won by id. Graves, with 3min 50sec. The course was about five miles. Fifteen runners faced the starter in the Dunedin Anglican Club’s three mile championship, held at Wingatiii, for the Soldiers’ Memorial Cup. The field se,t off at a merry pace, and very soon Stables took the lead, being closely followed! by Edmond and Bibby when the stand was passed the first time. In tlie second round Stables kept the lead and Bibby ran into second place, with Edmond and Paterson well up. This order was maintained to the winning post, where Stables won easily by about 20 yards from Bibby, who was about 60 yards ahead of Edmond, who just beat Paterson on the tape for third place. Result: J. I). Stables (17m 6s), 3; J. B. Bibby (17m 355), 2; L. F. Edmond (17m 275), 3; J. D. Paterson (17ft 28in), 4. Stables ran easily throughout, finishing very fresh. In ilia sealed handicap, run in conjunction with the race, the result was: J. D. Paterson (40sec), 36m. 48s, 3; H. Ornirod (45sec), 16m 51s, 2: J. B. Bibby (20sec), 16m 555, 3; J. D. Stables (ser), 17m 6s, 4. Mile Championship and Sealed Handicap at Wingatiii on Saturday. The ground was very heavy, and thus the field spread out in a short time. Fourteen members started, and although it was a hard' race, 12 of them breasted the tape at the finish. The course was the same ns taken in the Inter-club Five Mils Championship From a good start, White, M'Allen, Taylor, and Morris showed out well. At the end of the first two miles and a-half the order was —White, M'Allen, Taylor, and Hanrahan, tho rest of the field being well strung out. Coming on to the course for the second time, White increased Ms lead and finished a winner by about yards; M'Allen and Taylor being second and third respectively. Result: F. White 1. T. M'Allen 2, J. Taylor 3, E. M'llroy 4- The Sealed Handicap resulted in J. Taylor taking first place and C. Morris second. The special prize for the first novice home went to L. Cliitterbuck. The following have been chosen to represent the club in the InterClub Five-Mile Championship:—F. White, T. M'Allen, E. M'llroy, J. Taylor, C. Morris, and L. Cliitterbuck. The course taken by the Y.M.C.A. Harriers oil Saturday loci them through the Gardens, up the Opoho road, and over the hill to the rifle butts. From there the course continued along the Lake Logan load to Dundas street, up to the drive and thence home.
