PROHIBITION AND THE CHURCH.
ANGLICAN SYNOD'S RESOLUTION. AUCKLAND, Ma v 5. Regarding the liquor question, the Anglican Synod adopted a resolution put. forward by the Primal© in place of the motion moved previously by Archdeacon Chatterton. The Primate’s resolution reads: “That that Synod expresses its strong conviction that it, is the bounden duty of Christian people, unless _ they are prepared to vote for total prohibition to have some other drastic remedy for an evil which is sapping the morals and efficiency of the community.”
