With Easter so late this year the A.R.C. Winter meeting follows close on the Autumn meeting. Nominations fm the principal events were received on Tiiday last, the Great Northern Hurdle race attracting an entry of 38, and the SteepleGreat Northern double is getting popular with owners. With the going firm h ; > should run well. Bitholia has been galloping well on the track lately, hut has not run up to expectations in his races. He will be competing at Egmont. Mr P. Eva is taking Marble Crag and Manga.malioe to Egmont. The former scored an easy victory in the Maiden at. Avondale. Tenacious is engaged in the Steeplechase. The old fellow ran a good race in the hurdle race at Avondale on the opening day, finishing to Shellshock.
