SPANISH DISASTER

WHOLE FAMILIES PERISH. MADRID, April 26. Fire broke out at Malaga at 1 a.m. in a building which was occupied by a number of Government departments. The upper stories, which housed the subordinate officials, were cut off. Several families perished. The fire brigade was powerless. It was feared that the conflagration would spread to the ground floor, where the munitions for the African army were stored. The death roll is between 50 and 60. A number of persons lost their lives by jumping from the windows. The fire is still burning. April 27. A dynamite store at Malaga exploded and wrecked public buildings over an extensive area. Twenty-five dead bodies have been recovered. The majority, of them were officials or members of the employees’ families.
