The family Bible of William Burns, father of the poet, was sold at Sotheby's recently for £450 to Air T. Dunlop, secretary of the trustees of the Burns Cottage at, Ayr. in which it. will be housed. Seventeen \oars ago Robert Burns’ family Bible was sold at Sotheby's for £1560 to Messrs Quavitch, and passed from them to Air Dunlop for the museum.
