| PROAIOTJONS AND TRANSFERS. A number of promotions and transfers : affecting the local police force have been | notified. Senior-detective Kemp, who has , been stationed in Dunedin for the past five or six years, has received word of his transI fer to Wellington to take up the position | of chief detective in that city, in place of I Chief-detective A. Ward, who has resigned. Sergeant T. Shanahan (Central Police Station) has been moved to North Dunedin Station, vice Sergeant I). M’Kenzie, transferred to Sydenham; Sergeant J. M. Al'Rae (Central Police Station) has been moved to Port Chalmers, vice Sergeant Dougan, transferred to St. Albans; Constable D. Vaughan has been moved from Oamaru to Nasebv, and Constable J. APCullougli (Central Station to the newlyformed police station at Tuatapere. Other changes are perilling, and will be made when the result of recent medical lions is made known.
