ST. CLAIR SCHOOL

ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED.

A large gathering c.f pupils and parents attended the unveiling of a roll of honour to fallen ov-pupils of the St. Clair School in thi\» gymnasium on the 26th uir.. Mr P. .1, Priest- (school committee chairman) presiding. Addresses were delivered by the chairman (Mr Priest), Revs. I. Sarginson and A. Wingfield, and Major Lumpen. Major Dampen then unveiled Ihe tablet with these words: - “To the memory of expupils of the St. Clair School who had died doing their duty.” Mr J. G. Briggs then sounded the “Last Post.” The Rev. J. Miller offered a prayer and dedicated the tablet to the memory of the glorious dead who went from the St. Clair School. The function concluded, as it had begun, with the singing of the National Anthem, led by the Musselburgh School Drum and Fife Band. The tablet is of brass, with the names inscribed in black, and was executed by Messrs E. Mollcr and Son. It is worded as follows: “801 lof honour. In memory of ex-pupils St. ('lair School who fell in the Great War, 1914-1918.” The following names are inscribed : —A. Kind A ndrews, D.0.M., Theodore I>. Brent. Ernest, T>. Cogan, Victor R.
