ASTRONOMICAL NOTES FOR OCTOBER, 1921

THE SUN

The Sun’s path for the month of October, will be in K.A. from 12.28.30 to 14.20.42, in declination from 3.4.47 South to 14.1.41, and in longitude from 187.45.35 to 217.31.52.

THE MOON

ECLIPSES.

Two eclipses occur during the month, neither, however, being visible in New Ze<4land A total eclipse of the Sun occur* on the Ist, being visible in the southern portion of South America and the South Atlantic A partial eclipse of the Moon occurs on the 16th, being visible iu western Asia, Europe, Africa, and the eastern part of South America. THE PLANETS. Mercury will be in R.A. from 13.57.5 fc® 14.19.25 and in declination from 14.21.51 to 14.30.32 South. It will be in conjunction with the Moon on tho 2nd and on tno 30th, and in inferior conjunction with the Sun on the 30th. It will be at its greatest He. Lat.. South on the 13th and will b® stationary on the 19th. Venug will be in R.A. from 10.34.21 to 12.51.35 and in declination from 10.5.17 North to 3.46.28 South. It will be ia penhelion on the 13th and in conjunction with the Miron on Ihe 28th. Mars will be in R.A. from 10.38.51 to 11.48.8 and in North declination from 9.54.20 to 2.43.1. It will be in conjunction with the Moon on the 27th. Jupiter will be in R.A. from 12.6.8 to 12.29.19 and in declination front 0.31.31 North to 1.56.33 South. It, will be in conjunction with the Moon on the 28th. Saturn will be in R.A. from 12.0.28 to 12.13.32 and in North declination from 2.10.59 to 0.49.34. It will be in conjunction with the Moon on tho 28th.
