ANNUAL FESTIVAL. , The twentieth annual competition in music, elocution, and dancing, under the direction of the Dunedin Competitions Society, was commenced on Wednesday morning in His Majesty’s Theatre, and was continued throughout the day and evening. The judges are Mr S. Gordon Lavers, of Sydney (vocal and instrumental music), Mr W. Holman, of Sydney (elocution), Miss Hall (fancy dancing), Mr D. D. Macdonald (Scottish dancing, hornpiping, etc.), and Mr E. Stratton (fife and drum band contests and solos). 1 Following are the results of the day’s proceedings : MUSIC.
