RAILWAY BY-LAWS.
CONVEYANCE OF LUGGAGE. WELLINGTON, September 15. By-laws are gazetted defining the conditions under which the Railway Department will not be responsible for loss or damage of goods received for carriage, or to be carried by the railways, and the conditions under which, tho department accepts or rejects responsii diiy fi.r loss or damage oi checked luggage. By-laws provide that theatrical companies, of nut less than six adult passenger*, will be allowed to take free 2 cwt of effects for each adult ticket held. All - 'foils in excess of the quantity allowed to bo taken free of charge will be charged at such rates and will bo conveyed under such conditions as may be prescribed.
