CARGO PILLAGING.
CHRISTCHURCH. September 14. A. imam Love, a waterside worker, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing various artic e.s, valued at 10s, the property of the Lmon Steam Ship Company, and was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment, the evidence showed that accused bad gone aboard the Paloona, and while coming off was stopped by the Customs officials in the possession of the stolen articles The magistrate said this class of offence was canted on extensively in the dominion many persons engaged in transport work looking upon pillaging as a fair means of increasing their incomes.
