BOARD OF MISSIONS.
WELLINGTON, September 16. Tn response to the special appeal made hy the New Zealand Anglican Board of Missi one on behalf of the Melanesian Mission, the sum of £5690 has been contributed to date. Returns have still to come in from several parishes in different parts of (ho dominion. The sailing of the Southern Gross is assured, and it is hoped that it will be possible to despatch the vessel from Auckland on Tuesday next, which is the fiftieth anniversary of the martyrdom of Bishop Pattcson, of Melanesia.
