NATIONAL COUNCIL OF WOMEN.
The Dunedin branch of the National Council of Women held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, when there was a good attendance, Mrs Uarmait Jones (president) in the chair. As the agenda was a heavy one, a considerable amount of business was deferred to next month’s meeting, ii tie first item on the agenda was a letter from the secretary of ihe l’rovi.-i.mu! Commit-tee of the League of Nations' t’ui.u. asking for two repre.sonia'.ives fr an the National Council of Women. Mrs C.irinalt Jones and Mi? Leech were nominuiid to represent- the council. ’Three delegate- were elected for the forthcoming dominion conference. '; in- standing cinmit-tecs deal with specific interests, such as education, public health, legislation affecting women, emigration and immigration. The meeting considered various remits, including one relating to the unsatisfactory arran'-icnicnts for heating that even now cxi-u in some of tlie factories arid work- ; in this oiiy.
