The subsidy for the present service was £32 10s per annum. As the department was losing at least £l2 10s per annum on the existing service, it would not be warranted in incurring further ios3 by providing a twice-weekly service. A large amount of correspondence was received from the Waikoikoi, Moa Flat, Lawrence, Duntrcon, Oamaru, Clydevale, Tapanui Sub-provincial District, Otckaike, i okarahi, Berwick, Greenfield, Waitepeka, Popotunoa, Heriot, Maniototo, and Poolburn branches, dealing principally with die committee business of the union.
