RIFLE SHOOTING.

WELLINGTON, August 4. At a meeting cf the Executive Council of the Dominion Rifle Association Colonel Collins referred to the proposed drastic change in the association’s constitution. He said that the Defence Department was desirous of encouraging rifle shooting, and this could be best done by maintaining the association under its present constitution as a separate and distinct unit. He stated also that a team would represent the Commonwealth at the next meeting at Trentham, and it, was also expected that both Victoria and New South Wales would be well re presented. The first prize in each match has been increased to £lO, and the others raised proportionately, the total in each match being £122. The Bisley and Trentham aggregate prize lists have been increased to £IOO each. The date of the next association meeting is March 2.
