SYDNEY, August 10. Archbishop Mannix has returned. He lva saccorded a demonstrative welcome, including a much beflagged procession of Catholic societies and returned Irish soldiers. After Dr Mannix left the Cathedral where he was officially welcomed, he was mobbed by an immense crowd, hundreds going on their knees before him. j August 13. ! Considerable indignation is voiced in correspondence in the press over those who took part in the welcome to Archbishop Mannix being allowed to lengthily block the city tram and other traffic and to flaunt the Sirin Fein flag. In view of previous happenings, tho writers are inclined to regard the welcome in the light of “coat trailing.”
