OTAGO v. MASTERTON. The lion, secretary of the New Zealand Chess Association has supplied the Welling ton Adjudication Board’s decision in the unfinished games in the recent telegraphic match Otago versus Master-ton, the results being as follows: —Board 1 a draw, boards 7 and 11 wins for Otago, board 12 a draw. Lawson .. 0 Total 74 Total 64 The annual telegraphic chess match between the Auckland and Otago Clubs was commenced on Saturday evening. Owing to some delay at the northern end it was fully a quarter past 7 before a definite start was made. The adjournment was taken at 11 o’clock, and at that hour no definite results were to be seen on any of the boards. The pieces throughout were even, and any advantages that there were seemed to be evenly balanced over both teams. The following is the personnel of the two teams, the Otago players, who won the toss, and are playing white at the odd boards, being mentioned first: — 1. J. B. Dunlop v. J. A.
