WELLINGTON WING WHISPERS
Bt Peter Pan Dear “Pasqubi,”—To-morrow night the Gilbert and Sullivan Repertoire Company will open its season here in “The Gondoliers,” to be followed by “The Mikado. Charles Berkeley is ahe.q,cl of this company, and he speaks enthusiastically of the season in Auckland, where the aggregate takings exceeded expectations. The season here also will be good, for the booking is excellent. “Ohu Chin Chow” is being eagerly awaited, and no doubt the boom it created jn Auckland will be repeated he-Ji*e. I understand that in the northern city the whole theatre was booked out three days after the plans were opened. The New Zealand Diggers are resting until October, when they will commence another torn of the Dominion. The producer, Mr Fama, intends setting out on tour to obtain fresh novelties. The “Odds and Ends” company, led by Edgeley and Dawe and Dan Agar, are meeting with much appreciation at the concert chamber. The company, all round, is a very acceptable one, and the tour of the Dominion should be profitable. The Cher.niavskys gave three recitals at the Grand Opera House this week, and were most successful. The talented brothers seem to be more accomplished than ever.
